By this point I moved the pivot into the center of the hob so the spokes would rotate around the axis. Next i used Shift+D to duplicate with transform the pivot and set the first copy to 25.7 as that’s what 360/14 equals. This set the foundation for the first spoke turn and allowed me to use Shift+D to place the other 12 spokes in the right place.

Now, to texture what you must do is right click an existing object (after saving any necessary textures) and assign an existing material. once selected it will place the texture over what was selected and you must click where the mouse is in the screenshot below.

This menu allows you to move and rotate textures until it looks how you want it.
How do you rate the model overall?
To give it an official rating, I’d say a 6-7/10. I say this because as it is solid for a first attempt, more individual details could be shown across the wheel e.g. wood wear, carving etc
How could you improve the model?
I believe my wagon wheel would benefit from the spokes in the middle looking like they flowed into the wheel itself better rather than it just being a dark wood textured cone going into the outside with no transition
How do you rate the textures?
4/10 not the worst but no better than you’d find during the ps2 era
How could you improve the textures?
By finding textures that both work together better (same or similar shades of wood) as well as texturing more individually as opposed to just stretching a texture out to cover a larger area
How hard was it to model?
It wasn’t too complex, the hardest part was just not having loads and loads of experience modelling and learning how to use new tools which allowed the wheel to be shaped the way it is
What is your favourite part of creating the model?
To be honest I enjoy texturing the most as it breathes life into your models. It makes them go from being just shapes in a 3D space to being full fledged creations you could picture in a world
What kind of game would it be suitable for?
Any multitude of games, fantasy open world games like that of the elder scrolls or red dead redemption, a first person cowboy shooter. Almost any game in which it’s both 3D and would make sense to have a wooden wheel
Would it be suitable for a 2D/3D game? Any particular game? It would be most suitable for a 3D game as I believe an entire carriage or something related to the wheels existence would make the most sense to create next. In a 3D plane the wheel would fit perfectly
